The Head of the Fine Arts and Design Department is Viktor Oleksiiovych Korsunskyi, Candidate of Pedagogic Sciences, Associate Professor of Oles Honchar National University.
The Department has 6 associate professors, 3 senior teachers, and 6 teachers. Among them, there is the honored Master of Folk Art of Ukraine, members of the International Designers Association and the Designers Union of Ukraine, members of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.
The Department of Fine Arts and Design trains and graduates bachelors and specialists in Fine Arts and Graphic Design.
During 2014–2015, the Department expanded international relations with foreign partners in the field of arts and education. In particular, a proposal (draft agreement) was submitted and concerning the cooperation of Faculty of Ukrainian and Foreign Philology and Study of Art, and Krakow Academy of Arts, and Katowice Academy of Arts.
During the period of international cooperation within the scope of the agreement between DNU and UMCS, a number of creative projects and meetings with Polish colleagues were carried out at universities. From 2005 to 2015, more 50 students and 6 teachers of the Department of Fine Arts and Design have been involved in the cooperation. All international projects brought huge benefits for the creative development of students. During this period, 45 certificates of participants of the international “plain air”, about 12 awards for the international projects, 4 winning awards, 2 awards for the international graphic competition “Entropy of Art”, 2 diplomas of participants of international student music festivals "For the Creation of Set Design" were received. More than 15 undergraduates of the Department of Fine Arts and Design completed Masters Degrees of the Institute of Arts of the University named after Marie Curie Sklodowska, as "teachers of the fine arts". Five alumni work at Polish graphic publishing houses in Warsaw, Rzeszow, Gdansk and Lublin.
