The courses are provided by 3 professors, 5 associate professors, 2 senior lecturers.
The chair trains specialists for the qualification of "bachelor" in the direction of "Electrical machines and Electrical technologies" and specialists and masters degree in "Alternative Energy Sources".

Main areas of research:
- research and development of ways to use alternative energy sources;
- development and introduction of advanced energy saving technologies;
- research of the problems related with creating of pulse heat machines;
- selection and optimization of project parameters of the engines for aerospace start;
- development of liquid rocket engine with low thrust.
At the fundamental enterprise Engineering Bureau "Yuzhnoe" the branch of the chair is permanently carrying out its work.
