Graduation students-microbiologists and students-biotechnologists can work at enterprises of the microbiological and biotechnological industry (central factory laboratories, laboratories for growing of producers, nutrient sectors, control and standardization departments); at enterprises of the food and processing industry, in the agricultural sector, in the field of environmental protection; in the field of pharmacology and medical microbiology, in the institutions of sanitary and epidemiological services of the Ministry of Health, in clinical and diagnostic medical and veterinary institutions (microbiological, virological, immunological and molecular genetic laboratories); in the analytical laboratories of the State Standard and Customs Control of Ukraine and forensic centers, etc.
Students for performing laboratory work
Specialists can work as researchers in scientific research academic institutes of Ukraine, as well as managers and researchers in biotechnological companies of Ukraine, Europe, North and South America.
Graduation students are already successfully working and holding leading positions in bacteriological and virological laboratories of state and privately owned institutions in the field of health care, agro-industrial complex, environmental protection; at industrial biotechnological and microbiological enterprises of Ukraine: the Verkhnyodniprovsk Starch and Molasses Combine, the Plant of Enzyme Preparations inLadyzhyn, NVP "Vitan" LLC, food industry enterprises: "Zlagoda", PJSC "Confectionery Factory A.V.K.", "Fanny", "Laktalis", "Biola", "Mushketer", Dnipro food factory and other companies and enterprises. Many postgraduate students have already received a scientific degree and worked in Academic research and Industry institutes and universities. The geography of employment of graduation students, in addition to our state, covers a significant number of developed countries in the world.

Students of the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Biotechnology have repeatedly become winners of Olympiads and Competitions: Soroka Diana was a participant of the II round of the All-Ukrainian competition for student scientific works in the specialty "Biotechnologies and Bioengineering" (April 2, 2019), she was awarded a III degree diploma; Alyona Dreus was a participant in the II round of the All-Ukrainian competition for student scientific works in the specialty "Biotechnologies and Bioengineering" (April 2, 2019) and became the winner of the final round of the "Tomorrow UA" competition – a scholarship program of the V. Pinchuk’s Foundation; the team of Oles Gonchar Dnipro National University was awarded an honorary certificate: Basova Kateryna, Korovka Kateryna, Maksym Goncharko for the 3rd place in the 2nd round of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in Biotechnology (April 10-12, 2018); Pavlovska Anna took first place in the second round of the All-Ukrainian competition for student scientific papers in the specialty "Biotechnologies and bioengineering" (April 8, 2021).
In addition to scientific work, students of the Department participate in the formation of democracy and an open society of Ukraine (they are participants in the youth exchange program between Ukraine and EU countries with the support of the ERASMUS+ fund and the European Commission).
International cooperation. Anna Pavlovska, a student of the Department (BN-18-1), completed an internship from August 2021 to February 2022 at the Korean Institute of Science and Technology (Seoul, Republic of Korea). Shyshko Darya, Sachko Karina and Chipura Maria (BN-20-1) studied under the Academic Mobility Program at the University of Wroclaw. The Department has as future plans to enter into an agreement on cooperation in the field of educational, methodical and scientific work with the Department of Biochemistry, Medical faculty of Vilnius University (Lithuania). A number of studies were carried out with the support of the Institute of Molecular Infectology of the University of Würzburg (Germany), participation in the International Bioenergy Program is planned. Work is underway to prepare agreements on cooperation with Aubum University (USA).
