Head of the Department – Kovalenko Oleksandr Volodymyrovych, DSc of physics mathematics sciences, professor.

Scientifically teaching staff of the department is represented by 5 doctors of sciences, professors; 8PhDs, associate professors; 2 assistant professors, 3 instructors. Major scientific sphere of the department is the study of electronic materials and nanoelectronics, creation of new devices of semiconductors and sensors for biomedical electronics and microelectronics. Study of optical and electric characteristics of crystals of semiconductors, ceramics, glassy semiconductors, heteroepitaksik and quantumsized structures.
