Research Laboratory of Molecular Biology of Microorganisms and Microbial Biotechnology
Head of Research Laboratory Molecular Biology of Microorganisms and Microbial Biotechnology – a Head of Department of Microbiology, Virology and Biotechnology, PhD, Associate Professor Tetiana Sklyar, +380675603717, microviro@ukr.net
Scientific work in the laboratory of Molecular Biology of Microorganisms and Microbial Biotechnology is aimed at study of the biological bases in the functioning of environment’s and the human body’s microbiocenoses. Research is conducted in the following directions: monitoring the spread of antibiotic-resistant strains of opportunistic bacteria isolated from various biotopes of the human body, establishing the role of β-lactamases in the formation of microbial antibiotic resistance; studying of plasmid profiles of opportunistic bacteria strains isolated from different biotopes of the human body, which carry genes responsible for the synthesis of β-lactamases; searching and selection of probiotic microbial cultures and studying of their influence on the level of antibiotic resistance of opportunistic bacteria strains under the co-cultivation conditions; creation of ecologically safe biological preparations for combating agricultural pests and diseases of vegetable and grain crops.
