In T.H. Shevchenko central city park there is the oldest historical and architectural monument of the city. The Palace was built in 1789.
The interior design of the Palace presents the harmony of history and contemporaneity displaying the beauty of every place inside. The staircase leading to the second floor, rests on twelve magnificent columns forming an unusual “live square”. In 1918, Palace became the first academic building of the reopened Katerynoslav University.
In the course of its existence the Students’ Palace turned into a unique center of culture and students’ leisure activities. It especially intensified its diverse activities after having been reconstructed and transferred into the structure of Oles Honchar Dnipro National University.
In 1997 a unique gallery “Hetmans of Ukraine” was opened in the Student’s Palace.
The Historical Museum of Oles Honchar Dnipro National University has been opened for its visitors since 2005.
The ceiling of the right gallery in the Palace was painted according to the antique plot “Seasons of the Year” in 2010.
In 2011 Pan Flute (which dates back to the III century BC and was found during the burial mound excavations near the village of Kovpakivka in Magdalynivka district of Dnipro region) was put into public display.
The Students’ Palace joined the world cultural event “Museums at Night” in 2015.
The exhibition of the University archeological expedition findings was opened in one of the galleries of the Palace in 2016.
The ceiling of the left gallery in the Palace was painted according to the antique plot “Time flow” in 2017.
In 2018, the portrait gallery of ATO participants "Their names are in our history" has been officially opened in the Student’s Palace of DNU, the portraits of students, graduates and teachers of Oles Honchar Dnipro National University and other higher educational institutions of our city.
The Students’ Palace is a cultural and historical monument, the evidence of the glorious past of the city, which unites the lecturers, and students of different generations nowadays.
Today the concerts, recitals, festivals, conferences, seminars, exhibitions, presentations take place on a daily basis in the Students’ Palace. There are amateur-talent groups.
