U.S. Embassy Joins University Initiatives

On April 8, the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv hosted a working meeting between representatives of the Consortium of Universities of Ukraine, Moldova, and San Diego State University (CUMAI) and representatives of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine. The meeting was attended by the heads and representatives of the departments of the U.S. Agency for International Development USAID, U.S. Commercial Service, Global UGRAD, Education and Culture, etc. The consortium was represented by San Diego State University, Odesa National Economic University, Kherson National Technical University, Khmelnytsky National University and Oles Honchar Dnipro National University. The working meeting was attended by Viktor Gasso, Acting Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work in the Field of International Cooperation.

The meeting discussed support for the work of the CUMAI Consortium of Universities, in particular, the use of the experience of organizing higher education in California (USA), helping the population and military veterans overcome the problems of post-traumatic stress disorder, developing business education, cultural and technological cooperation, etc. The Consortium has received support from the Embassy for the participation of our students, teachers, and researchers in international projects and programs launched by the United States, including the Fulbright Program. The Embassy of the United States of America will provide assistance to ensure the widest possible involvement of the American academic, grantmaking, and business community in CUMAI project initiatives.
