DNU in the Ranking of THE University Impact Rankings 2024
On June 12, the British rating agency Times Higher Education (THE) presented the results of the annual global ranking of higher education institutions University Impact Rankings 2024. Oles Honchar Dnipro National University is one of the two Dnipro regional universities included in this influential international ranking.
This is the second time our university has participated in the authoritative global ranking. Just like last year, DNU was audited by THE agency together with the Prydniprovska State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture. Other universities in the region were not included in this ranking.
A total of 42 Ukrainian universities are included in the national ranking table this year. The Ukrainian institutions represented are included in different rating ranges, where they are sorted alphabetically. On a global scale, Dnipro National University with a total coefficient of 6.8-44.9 is classified as 1501+.
This prestigious study, developed as a sub-rating of THE World University Rankings, was first conducted in 2019. The purpose of THE University Impact Rankings as a global performance ranking is to analyze higher education institutions by the level of their impact on the sustainable development of society and their contribution to the achievement of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs, the target development benchmarks of the world community) formulated by the United Nations for the period up to 2030.
In particular, in the sixth edition of 2024, Dnipro National University has the greatest success in achieving the following SDGs: Goal 3 - Good health and well-being (43.1-51.1); Goal 5 - Gender equality (2.2-35.2); Goal 10 - Reduce inequalities (23.08-26.9); Goal 17 - Partnership for achieving the goals (36.9-52.8).
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) strategy, adopted by the UN in 2015 in the policy document “Transforming Our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development,” is a logical development of the Millennium Development Goals adopted by the international community for the period from 2000 to 2015 and is focused on creating conditions for the development of economic and human potential of the countries of the world in combination with large-scale changes aimed at preserving the environment.
