DNU and Charles University: Search for Common Scientific Interests

Scientists from Oles Honchar Dnipro National University have completed a short-term internship at Charles University (Prague, Czech Republic). The 10-day trip was organized within the framework of a joint project between DNU and Charles University “Supporting the improvement of the quality of teaching, research and international activities at DNU”.

DNU specialists got acquainted with the work of research groups and laboratories at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, and the Faculty of Medicine of Charles University. The trip contributed to more effective establishment of partnerships, identification of scientific problems and prospects for writing Ukrainian-Czech projects based on joint research.

Specialists from DNU saw the full cycle of ergotherapy intervention, starting from ergodiagnostics to the final meeting of the multidisciplinary team to make decisions on further work with the patient.

They got acquainted with the equipment of the rehabilitation clinic of Charles University, including the modern technology of walking correction after stroke AlterG, the main simulators for physical therapy of patients at different stages of rehabilitation after acute cerebrovascular disorders. Scientists from DNU also got acquainted with the experience of practical work in modern chemical and physical and chemical laboratories, and performed an experimental study on the synthesis of organometallic compounds.

They were also kindly given the opportunity to visit the university's botanical garden, attend a discussion of bachelor's theses, see the herbarium collection of more than 2.5 million plant specimens, and visit the laboratory of environmental chemistry and soil analysis of the Institute of Environmental Research.
