DNU prepared a compilation of student's translations of Taras Shevchenko
According to the declaration of the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych that the year 2014 is the year of Taras Shevchenko, National University in Dnepropetrovsk started the contest for the best translation of Shevchenko poetry to the languages taught at the Faculty of the Ukrainian and foreign philology and art of DNU. Currently the faculty majors in 12 foreign languages, the translations will be accepted for participation in the following languages: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese, Bulgarian, Polish, Slovak, Russian. The main goal of the organizers is a convergence of students with Shevchenko's poetic world. That's why the competition is open not only for Ukrainian and foreign students of Dnipropetrovsk National University but also other universities. Every young person who feels a poetic translation and talent and discovers love Bard creativity can become a member. The only important thing is that the participant should be able to convey the beauty of the poetic heights of Shevchenko helped us all enjoy the language and opened his own talent. The proposed project by Dnepropetrovsk National University is organized with the assistance of City Council and includes in the set of activities the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Taras Shevchenko in Kyiv. Competition Organizing Committee headed by the Rector of National University, Professor Mykola Polyakov. The structure of the organizers also includes Deputy Mayor Irina Zaitseva, dean of the faculty of Ukrainian and foreign philology and art history of DNU Irina Popova, associate dean of educational work, assistant professor of Ukrainian literature Alexandra Honyuk and others.Press-office DNU
