On January 17, a delegation from the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ukraine visited Oles Honchar Dnipro National University as part of a visit to Dnipro dedicated to the postwar reconstruction of Ukraine.
The First Secretary of the Embassy Ladislav Horak and the project manager of the Embassy Natalia Andreeva arrived at a business meeting with the management of DNU on the prospects for scientific and academic cooperation between our university and the Czech Republic.
Rector Sergiy Okovytyy, Acting First Vice-Rector Valentyna Silich-Balgabaeva, Acting Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work in the Field of International Cooperation Viktor Gasso, Vice-Rector for Research Oleh Marenkov, Acting Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Nataliia Huk met the distinguished guests.
Representatives of DNU familiarized the guests with the multifaceted activities of our university, especially with the specifics of its functioning and prospects in the current wartime and post-war periods. In particular, Rector Sergiy Okovytyy spoke about the educational and scientific potential of the Alma Mater, presented the areas of priority development and initiatives of DNU for the defense, reconstruction and development of Ukraine.
The fruitful subject cooperation of the universities began with the launch of the Eastern Partnership Universities Cluster and continued with a large-scale project implemented with the assistance of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs. More than 50 DNU employees attended certified training seminars in the natural sciences, philosophy, history, journalism, and librarianship organized by colleagues from Charles University. Charles University also provided 10 mini-grants for our scientists, and soon 10 DNU researchers - rehabilitation specialists, physicists, biologists, and chemists - will be trained there. In addition, our specialists jointly develop and submit projects under the EU Erasmus and Horizon 2020 programs.
