Ukraine in the Focus of EU Support

Oles Honchar Dnipro National University hosted a seminar from the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine (NEO).

Svitlana Shytikova, Head of the NEO, told the teachers and researchers of DNU about the unprecedented grant opportunities that the European Commission is currently providing for Ukrainian universities.

“In general 39 Erasmus+ projects are open to Ukraine. The EU focus is for supporting of Ukrainians, and 10 projects funded by the European Commission are exclusively for Ukrainians. I would like to inspire you to win the competitions, because today the focus of the Erasmus+ Office is on supporting Ukraine”, Ms. Svitlana emphasized

The head of the National Erasmus+ Office spoke in detail about the tools for internationalization of universities supported by the Erasmus+ and Jean Monnet programs. In particular, they talked about opportunities for staff development, academic mobility, launching new or joint new educational programs, conducting joint research, publishing scientific results in international publications, developing infrastructure for the implementation of innovative educational practices, etc.

Employees of DNU who already have experience in implementing Erasmus+ and Jean Monnet programs or are preparing grant applications were invited to talk to Svitlana Shytikova.

They also discussed the four main criteria by which project applications are evaluated:

- project relevance

- quality of project design and implementation;

- quality of the project team, expected impact, dissemination, and sustainability of project results;

- logical and structural matrix (goals, objectives, innovation, activities, expected results, impact).

Particular emphasis was placed on the proactive position of scientists who plan to establish collaborations with foreign scientific institutions and businesses to initiate joint activities.
