Spanish universities are preparing procedures to host them and we are gathering info accordingly.

We are still shocked and horrified by the war that is currently raging in Ukraine. It is hard to imagine how dramatic the situation must be for you and your families, and we would like to express our solidarity and support to you as participating university in the "bologna hub peer support" project. We are deeply concerned about the lives of the people and the well-being of our partner organisations in Ukraine. DAAD supports its partners in Ukraine and assesses how academic cooperation with Ukraine can be shaped. Please find the DAAD´s official statement here.

As involved university in our project, we want to let you know that we will be at your disposal for virtual counselling meetings, whenever desired and possible. We know that this is probably not very relevant now, but we see it as our duty, especially in these difficult times, to support our friends and partners in Ukraine if possible.

Dear Sir

We are deeply disturbed, depressed and shaken from the war crimes perpetrated by Russia on the innocent, peace-loving and respectful people of Ukraine. It is extremely condemned and decried. On behalf of our institution, we extend full support morally and institutionally to our partner/collaborating institutions and other organizations in Ukraine. On individual level, we have mobilized our peer networks to sign petitions, to boost the tempo of Ukrainian citizens, to condemn the aggressor and aggression, to assist directly the groups seeking help, and so on. We have written messages and letters to global institutions and key international organizations for pressurizing Russia to stop the war unconditionally.

Having limitations of operating non-politically, we envisage a massive humanitarian crisis in Ukraine following the large-scale war against the people of this country. We also understand that along with the economy, infrastructure, social fabric, health facilities, basic amenities, food and water, and human living, the educational apparatus of Ukraine is going to crumble remarkably. In this row, schools, higher education institutions, universities and colleges will also be affected badly. At the moment, it is a priority and urgency to stop the war to escape further loss of lives, infrastructure, human sufferings and exodus of the people.

Post-war, support of entire world shall be required to rebuild and rehabilitate the war-affected people, institutions, educational centres, and civil society. The world over, individuals and organizations must have to extend help to develop supporting networking. Envisaging such a need, The Grassroots Institute will create a “special platform” on ggN (Grassroots Global Network) [www.grassrootsglobal.net] specially for Ukraine where all our existing and potential partners/collaborators can park their appeals/requests. From this “special platform”, we will campaign intensively across the world to attract the attention of individuals, international organizations, governments, institutions, NGOs, donors, agencies and networks towards the appeals/requests of Ukrainian institutions/groups/organizations asking for support. We will try to activate this ‘special platform’ from 10 March 2022. All Ukrainian universities, institutes, colleges, NGOs, city/village councils, citizen groups, etc. will be invited soon to create and place their appeals/requests on this platform.

Мeanwhile, we cancel a Lecture scheduled on 9 March 2022 specifically for Ukrainian scientific authors [see www.grassrootsinstitute.ca/gli]. We apologize for this, but the life of our beloved Ukrainian citizens is far more important. We can fix many such lectures later. Our prays and hearted support are with all the people of Ukraine.

With great concern we are closely watching how events are evolving in Ukraine. All Lithuanian people and community of Vilnius University try to help and support Ukrainian people in any way we can.

We would like to draw your attention to Vilnius University website devoted to Ukrainian students and staff, also to those who find themselves in Lithuania. We upload the newest information regularly. Here you can find our key contacts (in case you want to reach out) and answers to different questions.

All Ukrainian students are welcome to continue the studies at Vilnius University for this spring semester. If they wish, they will be able to transfer to regular studies later.

Ukrainian students will receive a special scholarship (EUR 200 per month), will be exempted from tuition fees, and will be given free accommodation in the dormitories of Vilnius University. Free English language course will be offered if necessary. Please do not hesitate to inform your students of these conditions and please encourage them to contact us trs@cr.vu.lt or ask@vu.lt

You may use the same contacts if your staff in Lithuania need support such as: legal services, free Lithuanian language courses, translation services, mentoring program, etc.

Ми стали свідками жорстокої військової агресії. Ранок четверга зупинив нашу щоденну роботу, заплутав наші думки та похитнув основи нашої віри в спільні цінності та демократію.

Але в ці напружені для нас і для всього західного світу дні я хотів би закликати вас не втрачати надії і всіма силами підтримувати українців, які воюють у своїй країні, а також тих, хто приїжджає до Литви. Зі свого боку, університет готовий прийняти до 400 студентів, які звільняються з війни, у вільні гуртожитки, будинки відпочинку та інші приміщення.

Університет також розширюється від 2020 року. Фонд підтримки студентів, яких переслідує білоруський режим, був створений восени і готовий надати допомогу українським студентам, які постраждали від російської військової агресії.

Я запрошую всіх небайдужих випускників ВМУ зробити свій внесок у цю підтримку – ваша жертва досягне найбільш уразливих членів академічної спільноти України або студентів, які приходять до нас.

Нагадаю, що надзвичайний стан, оголошений у четвер у Литві, не обмежував ні роботи, ні навчання в університеті, ні свободу пересування по країні. До 10 березня. нинішній режим надзвичайної ситуації посилить охорону державного кордону, забезпечить громадський порядок і серйозність суспільства, захистить життя, здоров’я та майно населення.

We thank you very much for your letter. Our thoughts are always with you. We hoped to receive information from you, but we did not dare to ask.

We assure to be on side of the Ukrainian nation. We stand behind of all our long-lasting partners in Ukraine. We form networks with many partners here to organize any possible kind of support for you. We follow all news.

Hochschule Mittweida offers study places for students, who fled from Ukraine for the time of the war. We cannot replace the study programmes from the home university, but we enable the students to live under the roof of a university, with all support like students need. We help to finance the first period of studies for a certain number of students. We care for accommodation. We provide psychological aid. There are lots of initiatives in Germany and also in our region to support Ukrainian people.

Our rector´s office is in direct contact to Prof. Dzhusov and will send a medical transport to a hospital in Dnipro very soon.

We are very aware about the dramatic situation. How we wish the war would be finished today with freedom and independence for Ukraine!!!

In particular, GNU has invited Yang-gu Lee, the former Korean Ambassador to Ukraine, as a professor to strengthen cooperation with higher education institutions in Ukrainian and promote joint research and exchange activities. As part of these efforts, we are discussing to conclude a cooperative agreement with the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”.

We are well aware that the Ukrainian government and people are greatly suffering from the ongoing war in Ukrainian territory. Witnessing the innocent Ukrainian people losing their lives and the destruction of numerous civilian facilities makes me feel miserable and bitter as a citizen of the world living together in this era.

We understand and empathize with the pains and difficulties of Ukraine because the Republic of Korea also went through a painful history in which millions of people were sacrificed, and the whole country was devastated during the Korean war seventy-two years ago, which makes me feel even more mournful and regretful.

It is certain that Ukraine will overcome the difficulties of this war, restore its sovereignty, and become a stable country again that protects the value of peace.

We truly hope that peace will be achieved again in Ukraine in the near future, and that national stability and order will be restored. Lastly, we would like to deliver our encouragement and support to the Ukrainian people and your university.

- Training courses for non-French speaking students, through the International Language and Civilization Center (CILEC), whose mission is dedicated to teach French to foreign people.

Володимир Путін оголосив війну Україні. Якими б не були заявлені приводи, а в даному випадку, безпека Росії, він порушує міжнародне право і нападає на суверенний народ. Гірше того, йдеться про людей слов’янської мови та культури.

Наш Університет, Європейський університет Epicur, університет, що розташований на прикордонній території, член Eucor (Європейського кампусу) боляче уражений, тому що це стосується наших цінностей. Ця драма стосується і нас.

Україна межує з чотирма країнами Європейського Союзу: Польщею, Словаччиною, Угорщиною, Румунією.

Отже, сьогодні Європейський Союз бачить на своїх кордонах, що війна на цьому «Старому континенті» — це не про минуле. Страшне пробудження. Невже потрібно, щоб лунали вибухи у київському небі, щоб пробудити європейське сумління? Євроскептицизм – це сьогодні одна з причин європейського безсилля. Володимир Путін нападає на своїх братів по крові. Середньовічні літописи часто визначають Київ як «матір всіх російських міст»: це підкреслює трагічний вимір конфлікту. Москва воює з цінностями, які завжди дратували диктаторів: свобода, розмаїття, дискусія. Ці цінності закладено у підвалинах Європи, і яким би не було те насильство, що розв’язане зараз проти Українців, вони непорушні. Ніякий ревізіонізм, ні обраного правителя, ані самопроголошеного не зможе їх викорінити. 27 членів Європейського Союзу ще ніколи не були такими єдиними, як від початку російського вторгнення в Україну. Жорстокий парадокс. Це означає, що нам не потрібна менша Європа, а потрібна ще більша. Для Страсбурзького університету, університету Європейського парламенту, це означає ще більше занурення у навчальний процес, наукові дослідження і служіння суспільству, для захисту та унаочнення наших цінностей. Як і в Раді Європи, яка засідає у Страсбурзі, наш університет приймає в своєму кампусі як російських, так і українських викладачів, науковців і студентів. Вони мають право на свободу, мають право думати, досліджувати, мають право на повагу та на свободу вести дискусію. Допоможемо їм, приймаймо їх, слухаймо їх. Наразі ми висловлюємо солідарність народу України, а також тим росіянам, яких багато і які також страждають від параноїдальних та злочинних відхилень своїх лідерів. «Усі війни є громадянськими, тому що це завжди людина проти людини, що проливає свою кров, яка рве своє нутро», — цілком справедливо каже Франсуа Фенелон.
